Dairy farmers raising funds for Alberta Children’s Hospital this holiday season

Dec 5, 2023 | 5:53 PM

CALGARY, AB – Dairy farmers in Alberta are raising funds to support children this holiday season.

Throughout December, community members are encouraged to help Alberta Milk support the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.

To generate awareness for the cause, Alberta Milk created a life-sized gingerbread barn at Chinook Centre in Calgary where, in early November, shoppers were greeted with hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies to spread holiday cheer. Following that event, a video was created recapping the experience.

The video will be used in December to inspire others to contribute to the cause through donations.

Crystal Olive is a second-generation dairy farmer from Silver Top Dairy near Fort Macleod.

Olive says “As a mother with a son who suffers from a rare genetic disease, we are regular visitors to Alberta Children’s Hospital.”

“I am not only grateful for the tremendous care my son receives but also proud to be a part of a campaign that supports the critical care provided by Alberta Children’s Hospital.”

The video from Alberta Milk can be seen below, and more information about the campaign is available on the not-for-profit association’s website.
