Fire Restriction in effect for Municipal District of Fairview

Effective today (Thursday, December 7) a fire restriction has been put in place for the Municipal District of Fairview.

The restriction bans fires of all kinds in the backcountry, random camping areas and crown land, as well as fireworks and controlled burns of large brush piles.

Safe campfires in backyard fire pits and official campgrounds are still allowed, as are burning barrels, propane fire pits, and barbecues so long as they are conducted with extreme caution.

The restriction will be reviewed regularly and could be upgraded to a fire ban or downgraded to an advisory as experts see fit.
