Province presents recreation projects update to County of Grande Prairie Committee of the Whole

Provincial representatives attended The County of Grande Prairie’s Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday to discuss two ongoing projects related to outdoor recreation.

The committee was presented with a draft plan for the Red Willow Falls Designated Trail Area to enhance the experience and directed administration to work with the province to explore the option of the county or a non-profit becoming a trail manager.

The province also presented an update on its efforts to convert the Kleskun Hill Natural Area into a Provincial Recreational Area.

The Committee recommended council provide a letter of support for the pursuit of a land designation for a provincial park adjacent to the Kleskun Hills Natural Area.
