Update from the Grand Slam of Curling’s Masters

The Grand Slam of Curling’s Masters continues in Saskatoon.

Brad Gushue’s team, with Beaverlodge’s Geoff Walker at lead, is now 3-1 after a 5-4 win over Brendan Bottcher Friday afternoon in the final round robin game for both.

Gushue and Bottcher are both 3-1 and in a four-way tie for second with Magnus Ramsfjell of Norway and Yannick Schwaller of Switzerland behind 3-0 Reid Carruthers.

Kevin Koe is 1-2 and plays 0-3 James Craik from Scotland at 6:30 Alberta time tonight in the final men’s round robin draw. Carruthers will play winless Cameron Bryce from Scotland.

The round robin on the women’s side concluded Friday afternoon.

The Eun Ji Gim team from South Korea, Jennifer Jones, Rachel Homan and Silvana Tirinzoni from Switzerland all finished at 3-1.

Gim lost 5-4 to Kate Cameron Friday afternoon. In the same draw, Jones beat Italy’s Stefania Constantini 9-7 in an extra end.

Homan lost 8-6 Friday morning to South Korea’s Eunjung Kim.

Tirinzoni beat Kaitlyn Lawes 3-2 in the Friday morning draw.
