CPSA cancels practice permit, registration for Grande Prairie doctor involved in a sexual relationship with a patient

Dec 22, 2023 | 3:41 PM

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta says it has ordered the cancellation of the practice permit and registration for a family doctor from Grande Prairie.

The college suspended Dr. Brianne Hudson in January of 2023 after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with a patient from August to December of 2019.

She was found guilty of sexual abuse under the Health Professions Act for the relationship with a patient the college describes as “vulnerable.”

Dr. Hudson was also found guilty of providing the college with false information by saying she had not been involved in an inappropriate relationship, during the annual renewal of her credentials in 2020, for which she was given a $5000 fine.
