River Ice Advisory issued for the Peace River
Alberta Environment and Protected Areas say they expect increased flow from upstream to arrive in the Town of Peace River today.
The provincial authority issued a River Ice Advisory for the Peace River Thursday afternoon between the Town of Peace River and Kulyna Flats.
It is anticipated that newly formed ice cover on the river will be pushed downstream and delay freeze-up at the Town of Peace River.
River levels in the Peace River may begin to rise over the next few days due to the approaching ice front, but due to the dry conditions and lower than typical river flow, freeze-up levels are expected to lower than usual.
