Grande Prairie-born hockey player receives AHL call-up

Jan 9, 2024 | 11:23 AM

A Grande Prairie-born hockey player has been called up to the AHL to suit up for the Utica Comets, the affiliate club for the New Jersey Devils.

Twenty-one-year-old Jace Isley, who played all of his junior career with the Rebels in Red Deer, will join the Comets in Laval, Quebec tomorrow (Wednesday, January 10) to face off with the Rockets.

So far this season, Isley has been suiting up for the Adirondack Thunder in the East Coast Hockey League, posting four goals and 11 assists for 15 points through 28 games before being called up.

He was committed to the University of Saskatchewan to play hockey with the Huskies this year, but decided to attend the Devil’s main camp beforehand; in hopes of signing with the organization and playing professional hockey.
