Update: Extreme cold warnings out for more areas, including Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview

UPDATE 2:

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area.

The weather office says the temperature will be close to -30 tonight with the wind chill closer to -40. Morning temperatures are expected to be close to -40 with wind chills closer to -50 through the weekend.

UPDATE: Environment Canada has also issued an extreme cold warning for the BC Peace.

Environment Canada has an extreme cold warning out for the Peace River-Fairview-High Prairie-Manning forecast area.

It takes everything from Woking north Manning and east to High Prairie.

The weather office says windchills near -40 are expected tonight (Tuesday, January 9) and windchills like this could continue into the weekend.

It is advising people to cover up as frostbite can develop in a few minutes.

The High Level-Rainbow Lake-Fort Vermilion-Mackenzie Hwy forecast area also has an extreme cold warning in place.
