Games in the Peace region are being cancelled due to the extreme cold warnings blanketing most of western Canada.

Grande Prairie Storm

The Grande Prairie Storm host two teams at Bonnetts Energy Centre over the weekend.

During Saturday’s game, the organization will be raising awareness for Alzheimer’s awareness month, as they host the Chuck-A-Duck event.

Ducks cost $5 each, or five ducks for $20, with the closest ducks to centre ice winning prizes, such as a signed Craig Mactavish Oilers Jersey.

There are two matinees on Sunday to bring fans inside to warm up in La Crete and the Crosslink County Sportsplex. The Dawson Creek Kodiaks come for a visit to take on the County Wheat Kings at 2:00 p.m., and the Flyers are up against the Lumber Barons at 1:30 p.m.

Check each team’s social media channels for any changes in scheduling this weekend.
