County Council transfers school site to GPCSD

A new elementary school could be in the Grande Prairie & District Catholic School’s future.

At County Council’s Monday meeting, they directed Administration to transfer a lot within the Windsor Area Subdivision to the GPCSD to be used as a site for an elementary school.

The subdivision, to the west of Whispering Ridge, is part of a draft Area Structure Plan that will consist of an elementary school and high school, with the high school being transferred to the Peace Wapiti Public School Division.
