$81,000 in grants dispersed by International Paper’s Grande Prairie Mill in 2023

Jan 17, 2024 | 11:49 AM

Six organizations benefitted from the generosity of the International Paper mill in Grande Prairie last year.

The mill says the $81,000 in grants given out demonstrated their commitment to education as well as health and wellness in our community.

The local organizations that were awarded grants were:

  • GrPr Hospice Palliative Care Society
  • I.V. Macklin School
  • Catholic School Foundation
  • Camp Tamarack
  • Grade 3 Reading Academy Society
  • 3D Children’s Society

A committee of team members at the mill determines which organizations are deserving and granted the funding.

The company says they started their International Paper Giving Fund in Grande Prairie back in 2018 and to date have dispersed over $600,000 into the community.

GP Mill Manager Lyman Rorem said in a statement; “Our company cannot succeed if our communities do not succeed, and these grants are an investment in our family, friends and neighbours.”
