Children found safe in Montreal after father’s vehicle stolen with them inside
MONTREAL — Two children ages three and 11 were found safe after their father’s vehicle was stolen with them inside in the Montréal-Nord borough on Thursday evening.
Montreal police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant says the father left the car running with his children in the back seat while he went into a bank.
Brabant says the thief jumped into the man’s car and started driving, apparently without realizing there were children inside.
The father called 911 and police canvassed the neighbourhood and eventually found the children, who had been dropped off on a nearby street.
