Women’s curling provincials start Wednesday

A couple of curlers from the Peace start their defence of a provincial title Wednesday evening in St. Paul

Nampa-raised skip Kayla Skrlik’s team plays Edmonton’s Nicky Kaufman in Draw 1 of the Alberta women’s curling championship.

That game will start at 6:30 p.m.

Kayla’s sister Ashton is the team’s lead.

They won the 2023 title in Wetaskiwin.

There are eight teams taking part this year.

Play will continue through Sunday at St. Paul’s Clancy Arena.
