MD of Peace Council changing fire department name

The Municipal District of Peace Council has voted to change the name of its fire department.

During Tuesday’s meeting, Council voted to change the MD of Peace No. 135 Fire Department to the Lac Cardinal Fire Department.

Fire Chief Lawrence Arnold requested the name be changed to reduce confusion and demonstrate the department’s authority over Brownvale as well as the MD of Peace.

Other names brought forward were the Bear Lake Fire Department and the MD of Peace Fire Department.
