Minister Loewen to promote Alberta’s great outdoors in Nashville
Minister of Forestry and Parks Todd Loewen will travel to Tennessee to promote Alberta as a world-class destination for outdoor recreation activities.
Officials with the Alberta government say Minister Loewen will attend the 2024 Safari Club International Convention from Jan.30 to Feb.3.
During the visit, officials say the minister is expected to highlight the upcoming auction of five Minister’s Special Licences for elk, mule deer, turkey, moose and antelope during the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo in Salt Lake City, Utah. Funds raised from the auction are expected to be used within Alberta for conservation initiatives and the management of big game species. Last year, provincial officials say outfitters brought $350 million dollars into Alberta’s economy.
“From hiking and camping to fishing and hunting, Alberta has many unique outdoor experiences to offer. Wildlife conventions are valuable opportunities to support the growth of our tourism sector, by inviting people from around the world to come explore our great outdoors. It’s time for more people to realize just how remarkable Alberta is,” says Todd Loewen, Minister of Forestry and Parks.
