Curling and hockey from the weekend

Curling

The Colin Griffith rink from Grande Prairie won the Senior Men’s provincial qualifier held over the weekend at the Grande Prairie Curling Centre.

The Griffith foursome won all three of its games.

The team, which includes third Dale Venning, second Rob Martin and lead John Inkster, will now play in provincials March 12 to 17 in Calgary.

The playoffs start in the West Division Thursday, February 8 with Fort St. John in Dawson Creek. The schedule for the Spirit River series has not yet been announced.

The East Division playoffs get going Friday, February 9 with Valleyview in Manning. Falher will have a first round bye.
