Fairview Health Complex ED without an onsite physician for 12 hours

The Fairview Health Complex Emergency Department will be without an onsite physician for 12 hours on Friday, February 9.

AHS says the disurption in set to run between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

During the closure, AHS still asks residents to call 911 in case of an emergency, as EMS will be rerouting calls to neighbouring facilities.

Nursing staff will also remain on site, to perform urgent triage, assessments and referrals to other facilities.

AHS did say this closure was temporary, and the closure could be cancelled if coverage is found.
