Swimming Canada award for Piranhas father-son duo

A father-son duo from the Grande Prairie Piranhas Swim Team has picked up an award from Swimming Canada.

The organization says in a release on its website that swimmer Oliver Dawson and coach/dad Alex have been given the Dr. Tihanyi Memorial Award.

Swimming Canada calls this a prestigious award that will open doors “to a realm of shared possibilities.”

The award is given to athlete-coach duos that show a lot of potential based on times.

The money will help Oliver get exposure to more high-performance training camps and competitions, and allow Alex to work on his coaching skills.
