Sexsmith advances in NWJHL playoffs, NPHL playoffs resume Thursday

Sexsmith has advanced to the next round of the Northwest Junior Hockey League playoffs.

The Vipers won 3-2 in Fairview Wednesday night to complete a sweep of the best-of-three play-in series.

Sexsmith now plays La Crete in the next round. The series starts Saturday in La Crete. Game time is 7 p.m. Game 2 will be played Sunday in La Crete starting at 2 p.m.

The other two series get going on Friday.

Peace River is at the Wheat Kings. Dawson Creek in Beaverlodge. Game time for both is 8 p.m.
