ATCO warning against fraudulent calls

ATCO has been made aware of fraudulent phone callers attempting to scam customers.

The scammers have been posing as ATCO representatives and threatening to disconnect or withhold power until customers provide payment.

ATCO says the company would never ask customers for a payment, as they do not collect money directly from customers for their utility bill.

They urge anyone who receives a suspicious call to hang up, resist the pressure to act on the callers threats, contact ATCO directly for information on their account, and to contact the police.
