Fire advisory in place for GPFA

A fire advisory is in place for the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

The wildfire information office says existing fire permits are still valid, but new ones will only be issued for essential burning and on a case-by-case basis.

Any burning without a permit, other than a campfire, is not allowed.

The province announced an early start to the wildfire season on Tuesday, moving the start-up by 10 days because of the dry conditions.
