Feb 23, 2024 | 3:33 PM

Organizers are calling it “a winterific family walk in support of local charities.”

The annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association will be held Saturday in Muskoseepi Park.

Check-in and welcome are set for 4 p.m. with the walk starting at 5 p.m.

There is a two kilometre walk that goes from the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion to the spillway and back around twice or a five kilometre walk that goes from the pavilion, around the reservoir and back.

The fundraising goal for Grande Prairie is $50,000 with over $22,000 already collected.

Anyone who wants to register to walk or make a donation can check here.

The association’s Push-Up Challenge that started on February 1 is wrapping up on February 23.

People challenged themselves to do 2000 push-ups during that time.

Just under $29,000 has been collected so far locally.

Money from this and the walk will go the CMHA-Northwest Region in Grande Prairie.
