Curling and hockey for Wednesday

Curling

Morinville is hosting the provincial Master Men provincial curling championship.

Plays start tonight (Wednesday, February 28) with the first draw at 8:30.

Kurt Balderston’s rink based out of the Grande Prairie Curling Centre will play Edmonton’s Mark Johnson.

The champion will be crowned on Sunday.

The Grande Prairie Curling Centre’s End of the Year Bonspiel is set for Friday and Saturday.

The theme this year is “Through the Decades.” People can dress up in styles from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s.

NPHL

Spirit River beat visiting Dawson Creek 5-2 Tuesday night to tie the North Peace Hockey League’s West Division final at a game apiece.

Game 3 Thursday in Dawson Creek.

In the East Division, Falher won 5-2 in Manning Tuesday night to take a 2-0 series lead.

Game 3 Thursday night in Falher.

Storm

The Storm play their last road game of the season tonight in Whitecourt.

Face-off at 7 p.m.

The Storm are in seventh place in the AJHL standings.

The Wolverines have already clinched first place.
