Local hockey, curling for Thursday
NPHL
The North Peace Hockey League playoffs resume Thursday.
Spirit River is in Dawson Creek. The West Division final is tied 1-1.
Manning will be in Falher. The Pirates lead the East Division final 2-0.

Storm
The Storm lost 3-2 in Whitecourt Wednesday night.
Grande Prairie remains in seventh place in the AJHL standings with 51 points.
The Storm will conclude the regular season at home against Fort McMurray Oil Barons Friday and Saturday.
Game times will be 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday. The Saturday game will also be Indigenous Celebration Night.
NWJHL
Both Northwest Junior Hockey League semi-final series start Friday. Beaverlodge is in La Crete and Peace River is in Fort St. John. Game time for both is 8 p.m.
The Navigators and Huskies will play Game 2 Saturday in Peace River at 8 p.m.
The Blades and Lumber Barons will play Game 2 Saturday in La Crete at 7 p.m. If there is a split in the first two games, La Crete will also host Game 3 Sunday at 2 p.m. If the Lumber Barons win both, Game 3 will be played in Beaverlodge Sunday at 8 p.m.
Master Men’s Curling
Kurt Balderston’s team is off to an 0-2 start at the Master Men provincial curling championship being played in Morinville.
The Balderston rink lost 8-5 to Edmonton’s David Olsen Thursday afternoon after a 7-2 loss to Edmonton’s Mark Johnson in Draw 1 Wednesday night.
Balderston plays Jack Olson from Morinville in Draw 3 Thursday night.
