Special Olympics silver for Grande Prairie curlers

Some curlers from Grande Prairie came home with silver medals from the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Calgary.

Steven Biendarra, Anthony Driedger, Robert Elliott, Brian Erickson and Sarah Shinn all represented Alberta in the Chinook Arches division.

They dropped the gold medal game 4-2 to Saskatchewan, a team that had gone unbeaten in the round-robin.

Ontario won the bronze medal while Quebec finished fourth.

The team was due to arrive home Sunday but are now to fly home Monday after their flight was cancelled.
