Local hockey update: Storm advance in AJHL playoffs, NPHL final starts Tuesday

The Storm have advanced to the next round of the Alberta Junior Hockey League playoffs.

Grande Prairie won 5-2 in Olds Tuesday night to take the best-of-five play-in series 3-1.

The Storm play the Calgary Canucks in the next round.

Game 1 will be played in Calgary Friday at 7 p.m. with Game 2 also in Calgary Saturday starting at 5 p.m.

Games 3 and 4 will be played Monday and Tuesday at the Bonnetts Energy Centre. Game time for both will be 7 p,m. Tickets go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m.

NPHL

UPDATE: Falher won Game 1 7-0.

The North Peace Hockey League final starts Tuesday night with Spirit River in Falher.

Game 2 Thursday in Spirit River, Game 3 Saturday in Falher.

All games start at 8:30 p.m.

NWJHL

The Northwest Junior Hockey League final will start Friday with La Crete in Fort St. John.

Game time will be at 8 p.m.

The Navigators will also host Game 2 Saturday starting at 8 p.m. and Game 3 Sunday starting at 2 p.m.

Game 4 is March 22 in La Crete.
