Hockey, Arctic Winter Games, skiing, Wolves this weekend

Storm

The Storm start the next round of the AJHL playoffs Friday night in Calgary. Face-off time with the Canucks is 7 p.m.

The Storm are the sixth seed in the playoffs while the Canucks are the third seed.

Game 2 is also in Calgary Saturday at 5 p.m.

Games 3 and 4 will be played Monday and Tuesday at the Bonnetts Energy Centre. Face-off is at 7 p.m. both nights.

NPHL

Falher now leads the North Peace Hockey League final 2-0 after a 4-3 overtime win in Spirit River Thursday night.

Kris Desjarlais had the game winning goal.

The Pirates host Game 3 Saturday with Game 4 in Spirit River Tuesday.

Both games start at 8:30 p.m.

NWJHL

Fort St. John will host La Crete in Game 1 of the Northwest Junior Hockey League final Friday night. Game time will be 8:00 p.m. BC time.

The Huskies will also host Game 2 Saturday starting at 8 p.m. and Game 3 Sunday starting at 2 p.m. BC time.

Game 4 is happening March 22 in La Crete.

Arctic Winter Games

The Arctic Winter Games will continue through Saturday tomorrow in Mat-Su, Alaska.

As of Friday afternoon, Team Alberta North had 95 ulus, 32 gold, 34 silver and 29 bronze.

Ski Hills

Nitehawk ski hill is open from 5:30 to 9:30 Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 11-5. The Tube Zone is open from 5-7 p.m. Friday, 12-2 and 2:30 to 4:30 Saturday and Sunday.

Whispering Pines is open Saturday and Sunday from 10-4. The rental shop opens at 9:00 a.m.

Powder King is open Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9-3, Saturdays and Sundays from 9-3:30.

Misery Mountain’s hours are 5-9 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, 10-4 Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.

Golf

Bear Creek Golf Club’s driving range is open Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Wolves

The indoor track season for the Wolves concludes at the ACAC Championships Saturday and Sunday in Edmonton.
