St. Patrick’s Day temperature record broken in Grande Prairie

Environment Canada says Grande Prairie set a record for the highest temperature recorded on St. Patrick’s Day.

The temperature reached 21.3 Sunday, beating the previous high of 9.4 set in 1976.

A year ago, the St. Patrick’s Day high in Grande Prairie was -18.4.

The record low is still -31.7, set in 1951.

The temperature on Monday March 18 reached 15 at one point in the afternoon.

The weather office says the record is 12.5 set in 1990.
