GPFD Fire Chief Preben Bossen retires

The Grande Prairie Fire Department has announced the retirement of Fire Chief Preben Bossen.

Bossen’s 40-year career began in March of 1984 and has seen him progress from Lieutenant to Platoon Chief and Deputy Fire Chief, before taking the top spot in 2017.

In 2023, Bossen was awarded to Queen’s Jubilee Platinum Medal in recognition of his service.

The Grande Prairie Fire Department and the City of Grande Prairie are wishing Bossen a happy retirement.
