UPDATE: Storm lose in Calgary; other hockey, ice show in Sexsmith, skiing this weekend

Storm

UPDATE: The Storm lost 4-1 in Calgary Friday night.

Logan Cunningham had the lone Grande Prairie goal.

The Canucks now lead the best-of-seven AJHL playoff series 3-2.

The Storm are home for Game 6 Sunday in an attempt to stave off elimination.

Game time will be 5 p.m. at the Bonnetts Energy Centre.

Game 7, if needed, will be played in Calgary on Tuesday.

NPHL

Falher now leads the North Peace Hockey League final after a 4-1 home win over Spirit River Thursday.

The Rangers host Game 6 Saturday.

Game 7, if needed, will be played March 26 in Falher.

Games start at 8:30 p.m.

NWJHL

Fort St. John is in La Crete Friday for Game 4 of the Northwest Junior Hockey League final. The Lumber Barons lead 3-0.

Games 5 and 6, if needed, will be played Saturday and Sunday in La Crete

Ice Show in Sexsmith

The Sexsmith Skating Club will hold its annual Ice Show Sunday. It will start at noon.

This year’s edition is called Super Mario on Ice. Admission is by donation.

There will also be raffle prizes and a 50/50 draw.

Skiing

Nitehawk ski hill is open Friday from 5:30 to 9:30, and Saturday and Sunday from 11-5.

The Tube Zone is open from 5-7 Friday, 12-2 and 2:30 to 4:30 Saturday and Sunday.

Whispering Pines is now closed for the season.
