NPHL final going to Game 7, La Crete wins NWJHL crown

The North Peace Hockey League final will go to a Game 7.

Spirit River beat visiting Falher 3-0 Saturday night in Game 6 to tie the series 3-3.

Kenton White made 30 saves for the shutout. Mike Lefley, Dustin Sather and Bowen Sawers had the goals.

The Pirates will host Game 7 Tuesday night. Face-off time will be 8:30.

Lumber Barons NWJHL champs

The La Crete Lumber Barons have won the Northwest Junior Hockey League championship.

They beat visiting Fort St. John 3-1 Saturday night.

The Huskies had lost the first three games before winning Game 4 2-0 Friday night in La Crete.

The Lumber Barons will now represent the NWJHL at Junior B provincials. They take place April 3-7 in Peace River. The North Peace Navigators will also take part as the host team.
