MD of Greenview issues Fire Advisory

As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, a fire advisory is in effect in the areas of the Municipal District of Greenview.

The MD has issued the advisory for the Valleyview and DeBolt areas due to dry fuel conditions and below-average snow amounts raising the risk of wildfires outside the Forest Protection areas within Greenview.

At this stage in the advisory, safe wood campfires are still permitted, provided that they are within a metal, brick or rock fire ring and are on a non-combustible surface that extends at least one metre around the fire.

Anyone lighting a campfire also must have a responsible person in attendance to keep it under control and have enough water on site to extinguish it.
