Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools planning for indoor activities during Solar Eclipse

Apr 5, 2024 | 7:00 AM

Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools are taking steps to protect their students during Monday, April 8’s solar eclipse.

It is expected that in this part of the country, the effect of the eclipse will be minimal and if the sky is cloudy or overcast, we may not notice anything at all.

However, if the sky is clear, then all outdoor activities will be moved indoors that day to limit the chances of students trying to stare at the sun.

GPCSD warns direct viewing of the eclipse can be harmful to eyesight and will not be permitted at school unless the classroom receives direct permission from administration.
