NDP leadership candidate proposing more debates in Red Deer, Med Hat and Grande Prairie
Kathleen Ganley, who is one of five candidates vying for the leadership of the Alberta NDP, wants to see more debates added to the schedule.
In a letter to the other candidates, including Naheed Nenshi, Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse, Sarah Hoffman and Gil McGowan, Ganley says that though events are scheduled for Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton, other mid-sized cities playing host would allow the party to reach a broader portion of the population.
She also wants to see an online debate for those elsewhere or who can’t make one in-person.
“Our path to forming government in 2027 runs straight through mid-sized cities, so the more people we can engage with, the better,” Ganley said on the phone to rdnewsNOW Wednesday.
