Andrea Vavrek Dine & Dance 4 HOPE set for Saturday

The annual Andrea Vavrek Dine & Dance 4 HOPE in support of organ donation takes place Saturday at the Sexsmith Civic Centre.

HOPE stands for Human Organ Procurement and Exchange.

The evening will include supper and a dance, with local band TJ Ruckus providing the music.

Organizers say the University of Alberta Transplant Team will also be there to talk about the impact organ donation can have. Local recipients and donors will also be giving speeches.

Andrea was an advocate for organ donation during her lifetime and donated several organs after she died in a vehicle crash near Manning in 2007.
