Peace Regional RCMP lay charges after a string of suspicious fuel transactions

Peace Regional RCMP have one suspect in custody after multiple suspicious transactions with fuel cards occurred in Fairview, Peace River and Grimshaw.

These transactions went on for several months, reaching a total of $20,000, leading Mounties to obtain surveillance footage and execute a search warrant at a property in Grimshaw.

During the search, police recovered two stolen trailers along with the fuel.

Twenty-one-year-old Gessi Tywon James Larose, a resident of Grimsahw, is facing 18 charges, with a court date set for Monday.

Those charges include:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5000
  • Four counts of possession of property obtained by crime, less than $5,000
  • Two counts of theft over $5,000
  • Two counts of misuse of a credit card
  • Two counts of failing to comply with release order conditions
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Six counts (two for each ticket) of violating tickets under the Dangerous Goods Handling Regulation including: transporting fuel except in a fuel system or bus tank; transporting dangerous goods in non-standard container; transporting dangerous goods without safety marks; failing to produce dangerous goods training certificate.
