County of Grande Prairie implements gravel road bans

The County of Grande Priaire will be implementing road bans on all gravel roads, starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 19.

During the ban, all gravel roads will be at 75 per cent axle weight, with anyone wanting to operate overweight on any of the affected gravel roads requiring a permit.

The county issues these road bans during spring thaw periods, as the inclement weather can lead to damage to gravel roads.

Residents wanting to stay up to date on the county’s road bans are encouraged to contact the Road Ban Information line at 780-513-3964.
