Dawson Creek asking residents to help in making future plans for the city

Apr 17, 2024 | 12:00 PM

City Hall in Dawson Creek is asking residents to help update the Official Community Plan.

A release says this document “sets a vision for the next 20 years and outlines priorities and policies for the city to work toward.”

The plan outlines policies and spending plans in areas like transportation, housing, land use and infrastructure.

“Since the Official Community Plan was adopted in 2018, our city has grown and changed. We need an updated Official Community Plan that reflects what our community looks like now and what we want for the future. Community engagement will play a crucial role in updating this important document. I encourage all community members to get involved and make their voices heard,” says Mayor Darcy Dober in that release.

That same release says the work to update the plan will continue through this fall.

The first opportunity for residents to share their thoughts will be at Family Fun Night April 25. It will go from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Calvin Kruk Centre for the Arts.
