No doctor at Fairview ED April 29-May 7

The Fairview Health Complex emergency department could be without an on-site physician for several days this week.

Due to an inability to secure physician coverage, there will be no on-site physician from 7:00 a.m. Friday April 25, till 7:00 a.m. Saturday April 27, and then again from 7:00 a.m. Monday April 29, to 7:00 a.m. Tuesday May 7.

Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide urgent triage and assessment and referrals for patients to alternate emergency departments, and 911 callers with medical emergency situations will be re-routed to neighbouring facilities.

The disruption may be cancelled if coverage is found.
