Fire Ban

Town of Peace River issues Fire Ban

Apr 25, 2024 | 11:29 AM

A municipal wide fire ban has been issued for the Town of Peace River.

Effective immediately, no outdoor burning of any kind is allowed, including backyard fire pits, charcoal BBQs, open flame oil devices like tiki torches or turkey deep fryers, and fireworks.

Propane, natural gas or electrically powered appliances are still allowed, as are pellet smokers with an engineered firebox, indoor wood fires with a chimney and spark arrestor and CSA approved appliances.

Residents are reminded to fully extinguish smoking materials like cigarettes and disposed of properly, rather then discarded, and that off-highway vehicles are kept away from areas of long or dry grass.
