City road rehabilitation work rescheduled for May 13

The City of Grande Prairie will begin it’s annual road rehabilitation work. next week.

Originally announced to begin Tuesday, the work will now begin Monday May 13.

Crews will begin with road resurfacing on 102 Street between, 97 Avenue and 104 Avenue, which is expected to be completed by early June.

Crews will then move to the Richmond Industrial area, to complete work on four different sites:

  • 115 Street between 95 Avenue and 97 Avenue
  • 95 Avenue between 113 Street and 116 Street
  • 96 Avenue between 113 Street and 115 Street
  • 113 Street between 95 Avenue and 97 Avenue

A wide variety of work will be done throughout this project, including; roadway asphalt milling, storm sewer infrastructure repairs, concrete work, bridge deck waterproofing, asphalt overlay paving, line markings, and landscaping.

Construction is expected to operate Monday to Saturday, weather permitting, and the City says residents should anticipate one-lane alternating traffic while work is underway.

Temporary closures and detours will also be implemented.
