St. Joseph school to host presentation with Olympic medalist

May 6, 2024 | 6:00 AM

A free-to-attend public speaking event featuring an Olympian will take place at St. Joe’s on Wednesday, May 8

Olympic and two-time World Championship silver medalist and the first ever Indigenous female player named to Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team, Bridgette Lacquette, will be one of the speakers.

The event was facilitated by the city and National Aboriginal Hockey Championships taking place over the week in Grande Prairie; so Lacquette could address themes that youth are facing today.

Up to 1,300 students, teacher’s and families, as well as any athletes from the Aboriginal Hockey Championship, are invited to attend.
