Man wanted in Grande Prairie on child pornography charges arrested while trying to flee the country

Grande Prairie RCMP’s Special Investigative Unit say a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant from Grande Prairie on child pornography charges has been arrested while trying to flee the country.

Local Mounties say three units from the Chilliwack RCMP detachment worked to track him down in Chilliwack.

Ronald Duivenvoorde, 65, is facing a charge of accessing child pornography and three more of failure to comply with the Sex Offender Information Registration Act.

“The result of this investigation has been a combined effort from a group of individuals who are dedicated to protecting children against exploitation and ensuring those who commit offences against children are brought before the justice system. We are grateful to our partner agencies in BC who assisted in our investigation and with the apprehension of the accused,” says Special Investigative Unit Cst Michelle Jaszczyszyn is a release from the RCMP
