Wanted Wabasca man arrested by Slave Lake RCMP

Slave Lake RCMP has a man who is wanted on multiple warrants in custody after he refused to leave a business.

Officers were called to a business in Slave Lake on May 3; as a man was reportedly intoxicated, possibly on drugs according to police, with a duffle bag refusing to leave.

Mounties then recognized the man for having multiple warrants and an arrest was made. EMS was also called to the scene due to his state.

A search of his bag incidental to the arrest led RCMP to seize multiple illegal items, a sawed-off rifle, ammo, and a knife.

Nine charges have been laid against 26-year-old Wabsca resident Byron Joseph Micheal Beauregard, including:

  • Possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose
  • Three counts of other firearm-related offences
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Failure to comply with an order
  • Obstruct police officer
  • Escaping lawful custody

He was remanded into custody with a court date set for Wednesday, May 8 in Slave Lake.
