Fire ban issued for County of Grande Prairie

A county-wide fire ban has been issued for the County of Grande Prairie.
Effective as of 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, all outdoor fires are prohibited, including backyard fire pits, open pit burning, burn barrels, brush piles and fireworks.
Propane appliances, such as barbecues are still permitted.
The ban was issued due to hot, dry and windy weather conditions with a lack of forecasted precipitation, and will remain in effect until conditions change.
