The County of Grande Prairie has changed the size of the wildfire evacuation order area brought about by the Teepee Creek wildfire.

As of 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, the evacuation zone includes Township Road 741 to a quarter section north of Township Road 734 and Range Road 32 to the Smoky River.

All residents in the evacuation zone must stay away from their homes.

The area from Township Road 742 to the quarter section north of Township Road 741 and Range Road 32 and the Smoky River is now on an evacuation alert.

Since the last update, the fire’s perimeter has not seen any new growth and hot spots have been identified.

Checkpoints are still in place at this time. Residents are being reminded by the county to call 1-825-606-5166 to determine if it’s safe to re-enter.
