Grande Prairie swimmer wins final at Canadian trials
May 15, 2024 | 6:43 PM
Grande Prairie Piranhas Swim Team member Oliver Dawson won the 200 metre breaststroke at the Canadian Olympic swim trials Wednesday in Toronto.
Dawson lowered his own personal best time in the final after breaking the Canadian record for 15 to 17 year olds and the provincial record earlier in the day during preliminaries.
Dawson’s time in the final is still above the qualifying time needed to go to the Olympics.
He finished fifth in the 100 metre breaststroke earlier this week.
