Phase two of 116 Avenue construction starting in May

The City of Grande Prairie will begin Phase 2 of it’s 116 Avenue construction starting on Monday, May 27.

This will build off of last year’s work done on 116 Avenue and the Bear Creek Bridge, with crews focusing on the stretch of 116 Avenue between 102 and 100 Streets.

During construction, single-lane traffic will alternate on 116 Avenue, with temporary closures expected at the 102 Street and 100 Street intersections along 116.

Transit routes 4, 5, 7, and 8 will also be affected, with stops being relocated, or rerouted when necessary.

In a release, the city says it appreciates residents “cooperation and patience” while this work is taking place.
