Design Works Centre closed for maintenance until June
The Design Works Centre will be closed from May 21 until June 15, as facility maintenance is underway.
This is done every three years to “ensure the plant and systems run efficiently and effectively during regular operations,” according to the City.
All the work is expected to be completed during the shutdown; including an inspection of all machinery, which is required in order to preserve the integrity of the ice and extend the longevity of Zambonis.
In a release, CKC Director Angela Redding said, “It’s important for us to provide enjoyable experiences for everyone who uses our building for play or spectating. This important, required maintenance helps achieve that by providing top-quality ice surfaces and recreation services at our facility.”
