Here Come’s Summer event to kick off Aquatera Outdoor Pool season

May 29, 2024 | 1:12 PM

The City of Grande Prairie will be hosting it’s second annual Here Come’s Summer event at Muskoseepi Park on Friday, June 7.

Not only is this event “a great way for the community to get together and start enjoying the warmer weather;” according to Mayor Jackie Clayton, but it will also double as the opening day for the Aquatera Outdoor Pool.

The day will go from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. It will include free games, a barbeque, entertainment and roller skating demonstrations that will take place in Muskoseepi Park. Residents can swim for free at the outdoor pool from 3-9 p.m.

No pre-registration for this event is required, as all activities and events will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Private facility rental options from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays all season. More information coming soon!
  • Aquatics classes including Aqua Zumba, Aqua Blast Bootcamp and Baby & Me throughout the season.
  • Grande Access Pass (GAP) member night during public swim every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting July 1. GAP members can bring a friend for free during this time and make music requests.
  • Youth night during public swim every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting July 1. Youth night features $2 entry for ages 13 to 17 and in-water activities like volleyball and basketball.
  • Evening swimming lessons from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday starting July 1.

Following the Here Come’s Summer event, the outdoor pool will stay open all summer, seven days a week, until September 3.
